Enjoy this charming experience taking you on a unique trolley ride to and through some of Eau Claire’s most beautiful, interesting, and iconic neighborhoods, districts, and historic sites. See and hear stories of turn-of-the-century industrial factories and lumber barons, traverse an iconic rail bridge over the rushing waters of the Chippewa River, and journey through the woods to a hidden trail tunnel deep in a protected wetland forest.
Each tour includes an opportunity to step off the trolley and enjoy a beautiful river vista from historic bridges, with the trolley picking you up on the other side (or just stay on board!). Whether you’re a local or a visitor, the Chippewa River Trolley Signature Tour is the best way to become acquainted with both the history and the future of this growing community.
The Signature Tour lasts approximately 85-90 minutes. Depending on weather, be prepared for the trolley to be set up enclosed with sliding windows, or open-air with brass railings (and roll down curtains in case of rain). Appropriate clothing layers for heat/humidity, or cool breezes, is a good idea.
The short walk off the trolley is on a flat paved trail and wood-floor bridge that are safe for all ages. Expect to be off the trolley and walking no more than 5 minutes. At its length, and its depth of information, this tour is not recommended for children under seven years old.
