Craft Beer & Country Roads: A Chippewa Valley Brewery Tour

$40

3.5 hours

Saturday afternoons, 1:30-5pm

Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls

Ages 21+

This fun (and flavorful!) trolley tour offers a curated taste of the Chippewa Valley’s rich brewing culture—with a dash of scenic charm and a whole lot of local flavor. Brewing has deep roots here, stretching back more than 150 years, from the days of thirsty lumberjacks and lively saloons to today’s vibrant, artisan-focused craft beer scene.

At The Leinie Lodge, you’ll step into a true Wisconsin classic. With ties to Chippewa Falls dating back to the 1850s, this beloved brewery blends German heritage with generations of brewing know-how. Sample two of the 15 beers on tap at the lovely Leinie Lodge, including exclusive brews you won’t find anywhere else. Browse the gift shop, soak in the lodge atmosphere, or sit outside along the gentle curve of Duncan Creek.

Next up is Chippewa Brewing Co., a beautifully restored riverfront gem. Formerly Brewster Brothers, this microbrewery has been creating small-batch beers since 2016. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the brewing process—from milling grain to filling kegs—before sampling two of their unique beers while enjoying the majestic view of the upper Chippewa River.

And finally, we’ll head down to Lazy Monk Bier Hall in Eau Claire. Known for its traditional European brewing methods and warm atmosphere, this stop is all about passion, process, and a touch of old-world charm. You’ll get to try three of their carefully crafted beers — think smooth lagers, rich bocks, and crisp pilsners—each brewed with intention and authenticity. Take them out to the wooden deck and watch the lazy waters of the lower Chippewa River flow by.

In between tasting some of the best locally brewed beer in the Valley, you’ll get to relax on the open-air, vintage-inspired trolley, hear fun brewing lore, and watch the rolling green hills of the Chippewa Valley go by… along with any stress or worries. It’s like a Calgon bubble bath, but with beer and summer.

This tour is 21+ only, and lasts approximately 3.5 hours.
